Two people were killed in a shootout on Friday night between supporters of two rival mayoral candidates in southern Palawan, a local official said.

Joraiza Bazari, a barangay kagawad in Barangay Igang-Igang, Bataraza, confirmed to local reporters on Saturday, May 11 that her 16-year-old daughter, Myra Ossop Bazari, was hit by a stray bullet from the exchange of fire between the camps of incumbent Mayor Abraham Ibba and opponent Mulsinin Abdujarik. Bazari explained her daughter was inside her room when the bullet hit and killed her. He added that Alraviv Balidin -- a member of the Sangguniang Bayan and supporter of the mayor -- also perished in the incident just before midnight| Credibility: |  |
