Maj Leo Bongosia, spokesman for the military's 4th Infantry Division, said Talaid and his escorts were traveling somewhere in the vicinity of barangay Bocboc, Don Carlos when six armed men flagged them down at around 3 am. "Apparently [he] resisted, that is why he was shot in his left leg," Bongosia added. Reports say the armed men carted away at least P7 million and killed two of Talaid's bodyguards, while the mayor was taken to nearby Sto Niño Hospital.| Credibility: |  |
